Ask what the number buys
Request a dated quotation for a stated unit or configuration. Record whether the quoted rate uses carpet area or another area measure; do not compare rates with different denominators. Ask which floor, orientation and payment option the quote assumes. A price attached to an unspecified home can be an enquiry trigger without being a usable purchase budget.
Build a complete cost table
Use separate rows for the base amount, unit premiums, parking treatment, deposits, applicable taxes, registration and fit-out. Mark each row included, additional or unresolved. Do not insert a standard percentage for an unknown charge. When a second quotation arrives, align the rows before comparing totals, and retain the original file so later revisions are visible.
Compare timing as well as total
A lower headline total may require an earlier payment schedule. Place every proposed milestone on a calendar beside your household's expected cash availability. Ask how changes, cancellation and quotation expiry are handled in writing. For financing or transaction-specific tax questions, use the lender or qualified adviser rather than treating a sales-page example as a personal calculation.
